This week, several awareness-raising actions were carried out among children in different centers to inform them about important topics related to their well-being. Furthermore, the children were made aware of the harmful effects of smoking, drug use, and alcoholism on health.

This week, CPCS organized several events for children from different centers : the Holi festival of colors and a futsal session. These events allowed children to have a good time and strengthen their social cohesion, providing them with moments of sharing and conviviality.

The beginning of February saw the holding of a crucial session for our staff in Dolakha. Topics such as gender equality, the unique features of the adolescent period, and child rights were thoroughly examined.

Vacation time ! Boys from a CPCS center of Dolakha went swimming after their final exam. A wonderful time to start vacation. In the regional office of Morang, children from CPCS centers are involved in daily activities and enjoyed their time.

A new BHCA center in Dikta ! The CPCR team in Dolakha will open a new BHCA center in Sitka basic school. Our teams visited the school and discussed with students to have more information before launching the program.

Our fight against Covid in Devkota. At Shree Devkota basic school in Morang, our BHCA program focused on a classic health check-up for students. Then, it was followed by a second dose injection of the Moderna vaccine for children between 12 and 18 years old.

Awareness of our Health Care program! Our teams visited the school of Lamanagi in Kathmandu to give awareness courses about our program for a Better Health Care Access (BHCA). They also prescribed medicine for sick children.

Holi festival – Fagu Purnima ! We celebrated the Holi festival with students in Kutidanda secondary school in Dolakha. Holi is celebrated for the coming of spring. During this colorful festival, we will throw each other dry powder to express our sincere good wishes.

Action against lymphatic filariasis, Belbari health department organized an awareness program about the risk of lymphatic filariasis, a disfiguring disease, commonly known as elephantiasis, present in Nepal. Municipality will distribute medicine for people in need next week.

BHCA team meeting in Morang, A BHCA team meeting took place in the Morang regional office to discuss the running program situation. From now on, all #BHCA centers are regularly open and nurses carry on providing services for children.

Literally translated as “the great night of Shiva”, #Mahashivratri is a Hindu festival celebrated in honour of #Shiva on the end of winter and the beginning of spring. Kids and staff celebrated this auspicious day in the centers of Dolakha and Godawari.

The #BHCAprogram is quite effective in Dolakha : we administered sanitary pads and we distributed #CPCS calendars to the students. At Gujarpa basic school, we had the opportunity to attend a speech competition of class 6 to 8.

Awareness classes about the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) were given at the Shree Halchowk secondary school, Kathmandu district. The BHCA program offers crucial advices for students and handmade posters, to guarantee safety for all.

A prevention panel about Covid-19, in Shree Kabir secondary school, Morang, falls within the new sanitary policy of the government, providing vaccine for children above 12. In Belbari and Sindhuli, the BHCA program started to administrate the first dose of vaccine for teenagers.
