A6: Higher-ed forward momentum is critical. As institutions realize that OER is a good strategy for certain programs, #OER becomes an even bigger part of their larger course material strategy. #EdMapOpenChat

A5: There are more and more resources available with @creativecommons or Public Domain licenses that can be reviewed. It’d be great to normalize what information / metadata we need to show so it’s easier for faculty to adopt #OER. #EdMapOpenChat

A4: “quality” and “relevant” might be subjective, as with anything new, using course content that doesn’t come from the traditional channels like a publisher is going to take more work to review and trust. But we’re getting there! #EdMapOpenChat

Q4: What has been your biggest challenge to finding quality, relevant OER? #EdMapOpenChat

A3: There’s still a fair amount of uncertainty around the quality of OER per the latest Babson study. onlinelearningsurvey.com/oer.html #EdMapOpenChat

A3: Essentially it's about if a professor thinks it’s good quality and gets the important concepts across efficiently. This leads to students trusting and embracing OER – not just because it’s free. #EdMapOpenChat

Q3: How does shifting to OER change learning and teaching? #EdMapOpenChat

A2 In other words #OER is being used instead of course materials that are too expensive or not aligned with the learning outcomes – or where traditional textbooks are not covering the topic well (high-level graduate or PhD courses, niche topics). #EdMapOpenChat

A2: We see #OER being available across many disciplines and levels. It seems to be driven less by area of study and more by course material that isn't serving the student. #EdMapOpenChat
