@ejtayloruk I trained a residential staff team a couple of weeks ago. At the end, one man was taking ages to leave. He was waiting for everyone else to go first. When they’d all left he said ‘I’ve hung back to say - I’m 49 years old - and nobody has never told me it wasn’t my fault before’.

Cath: I've got fantastic colleagues. You can't make difficult decisions in isolation. I can always call or chat with a colleague to tap into my support network and because of that, I can provide that support to others and organisations too. #SafeguardingAdultsWeek

Helen: Vicarious trauma is real. Sometimes I turn off the news, play games on my phone & zone out. Reflective practice, getting together as a team and having fun. Sometimes it feels wrong, but it has to be done. You have to look after yourself so you can look after others.
