South African politics gaslights, angers & just saddens me... 💔 This Bronkhorstspruit issue that led to over 400 sick people due to incompetence in Tshwane & contaminated, is a reminder. Parties are exposing each other, suing each other & fighting... even those in coalition. Instead of focusing on helping the sick, giving people water & looking to get compensation for the sick. ActionSA is responsible as they hold the mayorship. But the ANC & EFF are with them in coalition & hold relevant MMC positions, but are distancing themselves. I wonder if I should just champion self-governing towns & cities... ...& only engage parties who are aligned, while calling out other parties that go against the mandate. South Africa will not improve until communities take ownership of their towns & cities. The SAn govt & it's self-serving politicians really upset me. And the sooner I bluetick them, the same way I bluetick Cyril Ramaphosa, the better. With that said, many ordinary SAns DO NOT deserve good leaders... you see it in who they support, the narratives they peddle & their lack of accountability. Being a South African on ordinary days... really breaks my heart 💔

ActionSA, I have read your policies, and on paper, I agree with the principle that foreign nationals must be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their immigration status, and that xenophobia must be condemned. But here is the hard question, Herman Mashaba: What is the value of a policy if your public rhetoric appears to contradict what your party has committed to on paper? What do we call it when a political party writes one thing in its policy documents but communicates something different to the public? Political hypocrisy? Double standards? Or saying the right things on paper while practising something different in public? As an EFF member, I believe in enforcing immigration laws without scapegoating African people. Foreign nationals are human beings too. They have dignity, rights and humanity that must be respected. Their nationality or immigration status does not strip them of their humanity, and it must never become an excuse to dehumanise them or encourage hostility towards them. We cannot allow the working class to be divided by nationality while unemployment, inequality and the concentration of wealth continue to undermine the lives of ordinary people. There is also a serious electoral accountability question here. The IEC's Electoral Code of Conduct prohibits certain forms of intimidation, incitement to violence and discriminatory conduct in the electoral context. The IEC's Disinformation Code addresses deliberately false or misleading election-related information while protecting legitimate political criticism and opinion. If political rhetoric crosses those legal boundaries during an election campaign, should the IEC not investigate? No political party should be above the rules. Whether a breach has occurred depends on the specific statements, their context and the available evidence. A contradiction between policy and rhetoric alone does not establish an electoral offence. Herman Mashaba, I agree with the principle in your written policy. Now demonstrate that same commitment in your public rhetoric and political conduct. Foreign nationals are human beings. The law must be enforced, but humanity must never be abandoned. The @EFFSouthAfrica will continue teaching our people that the struggle for economic freedom must never come at the expense of another human being's dignity. We will continue challenging xenophobia, exposing contradictions and advancing the values of equality, solidarity and Pan-Africanism. #EconomicFreedom
