@StarvedKaduck I voted to remain in Canada

BREAKING: Alberta has a referendum to decide whether to have a referendum on leaving Canada. Voting is under way today. The question is not whether the province should depart, but merely whether the government ought to begin the legal paperwork for a future binding vote. Polls continue to show roughly three-quarters of Albertans preferring to remain. Early turnout already exceeds 1.3 million ballots. Even their Premier Smith herself has indicated she will vote to stay. The independence rallies, one notes, have attracted quite a mature audience. The average age of these rallies is probably around fifty if one had to guess. Those under forty are markedly scarce. The younger cohort, by contrast, shows little interest in the separation. Canada has weathered more serious challenges to its unity and remained intact. An independence vote among a largely greying minority does not, evidently, amount to a revolution.

BREAKING: Fatalities confirmed at CFB Wainwright after a live-fire training exercise went wrong. A gas line or well appears to have been struck; the resulting blaze, aided by high winds, claimed multiple lives and injured dozens. One notes that Canada’s Armed Forces have, of late, opened the gates rather widely to permanent residents. Whether this improves marksmanship and range discipline remains an open question for the more traditionally minded. Please pray for the victims and their families 🙏🏻

Please pray for the people of Wainwright. We are closely monitoring the situation. 🙏

BREAKING: Punjab’s cyber police have decided a few Canadian X accounts need sorting out. They’ve filed a formal case against more than thirty handles—plenty of them Canadian—for posts connecting a Mohali property and education firm to alleged frauds in Canada. The official notices name the accounts and specific tweets. Defamation, they say, under Indian law. How convenient. Canadian reporters dig into cross-border scams run by Indian-linked operators, and suddenly an Indian state force wants a say in what gets said on Canadian platforms. Sovereignty looks rather flexible when Ottawa is involved. The original post calls them “arrest warrants,” which is a stretch, but the attempt to reach into Canadian speech is real enough—and more than a little concerning.

BREAKING: The Parole Board of Canada has concluded that Zakaria Amara, ringleader of the 2006 Toronto 18 plot, no longer displays “any signs of holding onto extremist beliefs.” Full parole has therefore been granted after four years of day parole. Amara helped assemble a group that intended to bomb the CSIS headquarters (kinda based ngl), the Toronto Stock Exchange and a military base, while also storming Parliament Hill. The purpose was to force Canadian troops out of Afghanistan. A life sentence followed in 2010. The Board is satisfied that a deradicalisation programme, combined with close supervision, produced “positive change.” No breaches occurred. Conditions remain: full-time employment, mosque attendance, counselling, and continued monitoring of his finances, telephone and internet. Contact with criminals or extremists is still restricted, except when he works as a consultant in a specialised programme. One might observe that a man who once plotted to detonate Canadian institutions has now been judged sufficiently reformed to live among them.

BREAKING: The Carney government has decided employers no longer need to bother checking whether a Canadian could do the job first. Ottawa is scrapping the LMIA requirement for high-wage job offers in Express Entry from 3 November. These offers will now hand out extra points for permanent residency without any need to show that Canadians were considered. They present this as a simple bit of red-tape cutting to attract talent in engineering and trades. One might have thought that, with unemployment already rising and housing still short, protecting local workers would remain the basic starting point rather than an optional extra. Evidently, ensuring Canadians get first look at the work is no longer treated as a serious priority.

BREAKING: A 24-year-old "Guelph man" named Bryce Sukhdeo has been charged with more than fifty counts of voyeurism after allegedly peering into the bedroom windows of university students over several years, with police linking incidents in both Guelph and London dating back to 2021. CTV continues to describe the latest specimen as a “Guelph man,” which is technically accurate in the same way that a man who has just moved into the spare room is technically a house guest. These sorts of window-peering cases have become rather more frequent in Canada over the past few years thanks to mass immigration from India and various other shithole countries.

BREAKING: India’s High Commissioner to Canada Dinesh K. Patnaik says the country will need about 15 million more workers over the next decade to support Prime Minister Carney’s $1-trillion investment plans. Canada’s workforce is already shrinking through retirement. The clear implication is more large-scale immigration — much of it, as usual, from India. One is left with the impression that certain foreign diplomats view Canada less as a country and more as a convenient source of jobs for their own people. Ordinary Canadians were not asked for their opinion, of course.

BREAKING: British Columbia’s Conservatives have dropped Zoomer candidate Jordan McIntosh after social-media posts came to light that minimised aspects of the Holocaust. The party acted with admirable speed. Canada specifically criminalises the wilful denial or downplaying of the Holocaust, while remaining relaxed about the denial of other historical genocides.

BREAKING: Brampton produces yet more regional council hopefuls. Harsimran Singh, who seeks election as Regional Councillor for Wards 9 and 10, presents himself as a successful businessman ready to tackle traffic, public safety and infrastructure in Brampton, ON One observes, however, that the candidate’s spoken English is far from clear. Multiple viewers have remarked that he can barely be understood. It would appear that speaking English is no longer regarded as essential for those who wish to sit on Canadian local government. One wonders how the residents of Brampton are expected to follow the debates. Representation that cannot communicate effectively with the broader electorate raises the usual quiet questions about standards and integration. Canada once expected its public figures to speak English. In only a couple generations Brampton has transformed with remarkable speed: South Asians rose from 13 per cent in 1996 to 52.4 per cent by 2021—the only such majority in Canada—with Indians, particularly Punjabis, dominant and Punjabi the leading non-English language at home. The European-origin share declined in near-exact proportion. Peel police have meanwhile dismantled repeated extortion networks, shootings and related schemes disproportionately involving and targeting the same community. Canadian politics continues to describe the result as “infrastructure strain.”

BREAKING: A man in Saint John has once again tested the limits of Canadian civic patience by depositing industrial bags of refuse at a children’s playground and into the river. The bags held metal bars, cords and similar detritus. Confronted, he invoked an uncle and departed. The witness noted the licence plate and reported the matter. Such scenes are becoming less remarkable than they ought to be in Canada. Public parks and waterways increasingly serve as informal disposal sites while enforcement remains, shall we say, restrained. Canada’s public spaces continue to absorb the cost of this particular form of enterprise thanks to more than ten years of mass immigration from the third world, particularly from India. One wonders how much longer the experiment can continue without consequence...

BREAKING: Brampton rolls out new entry fee. $250 for anyone over the age of 12. The gentleman being interviewed in the mall said the policy is already being enforced by five men in black masks, gloves, “strapped up” on the front line waiting for "you niggas". Many people are saying this is the most straightforward and effective border policy Canada has seen in decades.
