Lula represents everything that is outdated in Brazilian politics. In October, the Brazilian people will have the opportunity to decide the country’s direction at the ballot box. Lula has lost the trust and respect of a significant portion of Brazilians. His government is regressive and increasingly focused on staying in power, relying on populist measures that, rather than promoting sustainable growth, keep the most vulnerable dependent on the state. His response to public security and the expansion of criminal organizations has also been insufficient. Meanwhile, public resources are being directed toward policies that produce little structural progress. Brazil deserves more. It deserves a government that prioritizes security, economic growth, responsible use of public money, and, above all, opportunities for people to build a better life without remaining permanently dependent on the state.

Listening to Lula is a waste of time. He has lost the trust and credibility of millions of Brazilians.
