Only 1.6% of Indians pay Income Tax (vs ~48% 🇺🇸🇯🇵, 24% 🇨🇳, 47% 🇩🇪 ). And 85% of this comes from high income earners. So middle class (~45% of population) contributes 0.4%. Next time a Fintech “guru” or Pidi cries about “Tax Terrorism” - show them this.
