Stop with the, “I’m poor you’re out of touch Cerno.” My dad worked in factories. Got laid off. Food stamps. He got another job. We were poor. He went to church, didn’t drink, didn’t smoke, spent time with his family and exercised. Being poor isn’t a death sentence.
There are lower income Latino areas all over California. When you’re there in weekends, the dads are always with their kids. Family stuff all over. All this doomer stuff is white kids. Usually “men” in their 20’s.
@Cernovich He also probably paid $25,000 for his house like my dads first house. Times have changed
@Cernovich It is tough, at least for me personally to rise above living check to check. No excuses, context I'm a single Dad working maximum hours allowed by childcare. Good proper childcare is not easy to come by these days either. I'm surviving, but nothing more.
@Cernovich Poor parents who are around & love you > rich parents who put career over family
@Cernovich Being poor for a little while can be a blessing. It was for me 🙏
@Cernovich You can Uber 10-12 hours a day M-F and spend the weekend with your kids. But modern 20 y/o’s dopamine systems are so fucked sitting 10-12 hours a day working feels like torture to them.
@Cernovich The US govt creates financial incentives not to have families. There are marriage & family penalties in taxes and welfare benefits. I think this makes a difference
@Cernovich I still enjoy beer and cannabis quite often but you are inspiring me more and more
@Cernovich It depends how poor. If you can’t find food or shelter, staying alive is hard.
@Cernovich Your dad was willing and able to keep working to support his family.
