The Caitlin Clark love keeps coming ... this time for her work in the classroom. The Iowa senior for the second straight year has been named the "Academic All-America Team Member of the Year" by the CSC. Clark, a marketing major, carries a 3.64 GPA.
@ChadLeistikow Student Athlete personified. In this NIL and portal era you don’t hear as much about the academic / graduation side of athletics.
@ChadLeistikow I hope she is getting a 4.0 in her major(she could write a textbook on marketing). those dang electives and core classes as a freshman always mess with one’s overall GPA.
@ChadLeistikow Her recognition is even global to areas where women don't have a place in sport. Here is article from Al Jazeera in the middle east. aljazeera.com/sports/2024/4/…
@ChadLeistikow This is actually an appropriate time to say “If this were about Angel Reese we wouldn’t be having this conversation.”
@ChadLeistikow This is insane. All I did in college was drink beer, go to football games and look for a husband and I *barely* managed a 3.0. One more reason to admire the hell out of her.
@ChadLeistikow Nice to see she can do better than the 2.0 some other stars struggle to achieve. Well done by CC
@ChadLeistikow Sounds like Jalen Brunson has company. Brunson won two NCAA titles at Villanova, two Big East First Team selections and a National Player of the Year — all while graduating in three years with a GPA of 3.34
