@Joey_P_Golf@BarstoolHubbs Sure, they need to bring in mentally tougher players, and that’s in Cashman. But the idea that a culture of mental toughness and grit cannot be developed is something I strongly disagree with. It can be as simple as mindset when it comes to big games, thought stretches, etc.
@BarstoolHubbs It’s not that simple. They need someone who:
1: Can command the respect of the players (including Judge) while creating a culture with a higher level of accountability. Not easy.
2: Understand + properly integrate analytics.
3: Hold them to a higher standard re fundamentals.
@JimmyTraina Y’all quote these guys as if they are quoting sources every time something comes out of their mouths. I also “think” they will bring him back - that doesn’t mean anything.
@ESPNNewYork@RealMichaelKay@NYInjurylaw@RealMichaelKay it doesn’t matter if he would get a job. You’ve said yourself there is something missing when it comes to organizational philosophy. I have no interest in scapegoating Cashman, BUT, they NEED a visionary in that seat who understands what’s missing and can fix it.
@TalkinYanks Hmmm, maybe the playoffs aren’t a total crapshoot? Sure there is luck involved, but at a sample size like that, it’s clear that over time the teams better at winning baseball games will win.
@MaxMannis Nothing is going to change from a big signing or trade. The biggest move they can make is the small ones. Accountability, fundamentals, mindset, grit. Bring in coaches and players that do the small things right and know how to win.
@YankeesFanEarl To me? It’s not a big signing. It’s about organizational change on a philosophical level. We need to stop saying that if you put the best talent in the world in the room you win. We need to stop calling the playoffs a crapshoot. We need to figure out how to win.
@snyyankees This kind of attitude can’t be around if the Yankees are going to win. They need to stop prioritizing talent over fundamentals, accountability, and grit.
@SleeperYankees Organizational philosophy. There has been a lot of good. They’ve done a great job doing BETTER. But they are fundamentally flawed when it comes to organizational philosophy. It’s fix this, optimize that, theoretical this, theoretical that. But how do you win?
