Just days after everyone’s done wishing “Happy women’s day” A woman can’t do her job peacefully nor can she take public transport. This is where attention needs to be, let’s skip the flowers at work for IWD, I can do without the flowers, women need safe work places, transport etc

Yet they refuse to use English even in the most basic of forms and functions saying official language in the area is Sinhala. No consideration given to those who cannot read. Marriage/birth/ death registrations can easily be in English which will accommodate mixed family situ.

It's exhausting to keep hearing "you're just a journalist", "you're just a pattara karaya", "who are you, an unknown journalist" so many years down the line. But the common thread is that this always comes from people in authority who depend on patronage/votes for relevance.

3 wks n 2 course of antibiotics later, the cough, unbearable throat pain, burning nose n ears, difficulty swallowing n sleepless nights continue. Today 1st doc gave yet another antibiotics! So got a 2nd op. Said it’s a allergic reaction! here’s to hopping 2nd doc is right!
