Last week, we passed the most progressive paid leave legislation in the U.S., giving workers and working families at least 10 days of paid time off every year. This will give our city’s economy a boost and help businesses by increasing worker productivity and worker retention.
@ChicagosMayor City workers or every entire worker that works in Chicago ?
@ChicagosMayor Mayor photo op and nothing more, except racist rhetoric. 0 solutions 0 plan 0 cares BUT he has a black wife and black kids
@ChicagosMayor 1. Small businesses will give workers fewer hours/layoff or raise prices to cover these new free days off. 2. Businesses with offices also outside Chicago will hire there instead of here. Chicagoans just became the most expensive to hire.
@ChicagosMayor Leave it to a worthless socialist to be pushing for time off work when this city has hundreds of real problems to solve. 🤡
@ChicagosMayor Can you confirm that this paid leave legislation has been fully passed and signed by the Mayor? I can find the legislation, but not where there is a signed copy by the Mayor. Where can we find that?
@ChicagosMayor The only "leave" will be business and the tax base.
@ChicagosMayor This news follows the departure of several other companies that were headquartered in Chicago like Boeing, Caterpillar, and grocery stores like Aldi. Experts attribute the leave to a variety of factors including crime, lack of talent in the state, and Illinois tax hikes.
