First time with this issue on an OGxbox. Console would either boot fine and work properly or boot with flashing orange and max fan (overheating). It ended up being a faulty temp sensor. Swapping this chip sorted it out!
Softmodded my xbox thanks to the step by step tutorial by @blainelocklair and his recommended and much needed colsole usb adapter and compatible usb drive I got from @ChimericSystems
