EXAMPLE: Player applied to, and was accepted (as an actual student) by, Syracuse, NYU, Navy and Northwestern. Player-Student “commits” to enroll and play hockey at NYU.

The usage of the term “commit” in ACHA hockey context makes as much sense, if not MORE than the NCAA context, because player X is committing to University Y for a season months away, not years away as is the typical NCAA case. Example coming ...

UK Hockey will not be playing in the SECHC next season. The ACHA will not allow us to remain a D2 team and play in the SECHC. For that reason, UK Hockey is stepping out of the SECHC. We will be remaining a D2 Independent team in the ACHA.
