Deep inner suffering inevitably arises when the human person is reduced to performance, consumption, or a statistical datum. Many young people today live under the yoke of expectations to perform, immersed in an exasperated competitiveness that generates anxiety, fear of not measuring up, and disorientation.

Here’s the thing. Not a single one of us, no matter how well-meaning or how well read, is going to get it all right. No one among us will have a perfect record. All of us will make some poor choices and have regrets and wish we had done or said this or that differently.

The words of Jesus in John 15:9. “As the Father has loved me, so I love you. Now abide in my love.” Jesus follower, try to grasp the magnitude of what he is saying about you. In the same way God loves Jesus, Jesus loves you. Then he says, LIVE IN THIS TRUTH. IT’S HOME TO YOU.

More people need to say what they think. It's not that scary, it's not that hard and, by the way, if more people did it, it would be a lot less scary for everyone.

I hear so many people talking about their longing for community and, all too often, lamenting their inability to find it. Maybe that’s you? Perhaps you’re reading this because you’re longing to find a place of belonging and just never seem to connect. Community is a big deal to God—so much so that He breathed it into the heart of man when He created him. In Genesis, when God created everything on the earth, He is referred to in the singular. It is not until He creates man that He is referred to in the plural: “Then God said, ‘Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness.’” (Genesis 1:26). Not long after that, He said, “It is not good for man to be alone,” and went to great lengths to find a suitable companion for man—creating all the animals and eventually finding the perfect partner in the creation of woman. Let’s also consider the fact that we are born out of a union of two people joining together. As we come into this world we are automatically inserted into a community of our family. If you are longing for community and can’t find it, then maybe you are the one who is supposed to bring it to the people around you! You carry the blueprint for community inside of you, and the world is waiting for you to show up in that way. Instead of just meeting people and waiting for something to happen, start inviting people to do things. Begin with hosting game or movie nights at your house, or organizing group outings. Then after you do it once, do it again. And again. It doesn’t have to be forced or rushed; give it time and have fun. After a while you will soon start building real connection with people, and one day you’ll look around and realize you’ve not only found what you were looking for—you’ve created it!

Please don’t host a women’s ministry or a sermon specifically geared towards being a godly woman if your only perspective is how to be a *married* woman. I’m beyond over this. Unmarried women can be godly. Women with no kids can be godly. Women who will NEVER marry can be godly

The gift of God’s righteousness is our foundation (2 Cor. 5:21). We are saved as a free gift, by faith in Jesus’ work on the cross, but we are rewarded according to our works.

Successful ministry at the expense of a failed marriage is not successful ministry.

The first person in scripture to name God is Hagar. A woman. Single mother. African slave. She says “I have seen the one who sees me.” God calls her by name. Abram and Sarai do not. God has a way of exalting the vulnerable.
