HEY Travel Baseball Tournaments - NO 8 AM Games Please. Also, 2 games in one day is just plenty, there is no need to fit a 3rd game in. And how about No more gate fees and No more stay to play! Thanks!
@CoachSwit Paid for a tournament in Rhode Island and got this and locked bathrooms
Then the rain comes and each game gets reduced to 5 innings or 1 1/2 hr. time limit, not to mention that half the teams you play would be in a lower division locally. Other than giving the kids a look at what baseball looks like away from home, most tournaments are so-so at the best and cost too much.
@CoachSwit 2? Our 9u team regularly plays 3-5 on Sundays. Last Sunday was 4 with championship game ending at 930pm My son loves baseball and his team, but this is awful
@CoachSwit There’s enough different kids pitching to make that doable on top of the league games and practice during the week? Wow.
A new wrinkle they added this year were Thursday games, and eliminated the “weekend pass” gate fee option. Spreading games out over 4 days sucks, especially when they start as early as 8am each day. Lots of our boys play multiple sports, which usually has a summer practice in the AM during the week. Missing one day a week was fine, but missing two disrupts training. Liked it much better when tourneys were Friday evening, all day Saturday and Sunday.
@CoachSwit i said that for the 4 years my son played-8am is ridiculous-forces people to stay in hotels- the only answer is teams stop playing in these tournaments-but that doesn't happen -we all just take it and keep getting ripped off
@CoachSwit I think you just described everything travel baseball is.
@CoachSwit And let’s have catchers catching with one knee down. It is Connecticut after all
