Finished at my job, which was an emotional end of an era, and then took a break for a few weeks. Back on Twitter and will still be tweeting about coding, but not returning to 100DaysOfCode for the time being. Who knows, maybe I'll re-start in future though!

Day 20: Won't have time to do coding tomorrow and Fri so covered Java Array Lists today. Winding down my current job before a break and then a new challenge - tomorrow and Fri are the last days of notice I'm working in the Language Services industry! #100DaysOfCode

Day 19: Hectic week this week (and it's only Tues) busy keeping important plates spinning, so coding energy bank is low in the evenings, but worked on some more arrays in Java today. Little and often is better than never, I keep telling myself! #100DaysOfCode

Day 15: Learned about Java methods on Codecademy. Data types in Java give me a newfound appreciation for how intuitive PHP is with data types! Really making me stop and think about what I want to return from these methods here, Java #100DaysOfCode

Do you have a 'settling' routine when starting a coding session at home? Mine is getting a pen and paper, sitting on the sofa that doesn't face the telly, and meandering round the internet including twitter for 15 mins before actually getting anything done!

Day 13: Switching things up with a pre-work session! Felt a bit time pressured with one eye on the clock but it's been a nice bit of morning space to tackle Java classes. Going to stay on this for another session tomorrow and not get tempted to rush on. #100DaysOfCode

Day 12: Sluggish brain today but did another Codecademy Java lesson, and then some edabit practice, doing exercises relating to what I learned so far. I LOVE edabit, makes me feel accomplished even at the very beginning of learning Java! #100DaysOfCode

Day 11: Completed Codecademy's first two lessons in the Java introduction course. Allowing myself to take my time and type type type all the simple stuff again and again to cement it in my brain. Tried out Edabit too, really enjoying it! #100DaysOfCode

Day 10: Open up VS Code. Lots of VS Code errors about Java greet me. Oh bugger, I say. Cue re-install of Java JDK, cue Windows Path surgery. BUT I finally manage my Java 'Hello World' rite of passage in VS Code with no errors. I feel smug. And that's the hour. #100DaysOfCode

Day 9: After my PHP success with VS Code yesterday I forced myself to wade back into the dreaded settings.json file once more to get Java set up. I think I'm there! Call it Java base camp, and expedition to the summit (or a flag on the way??) starts this weekend #100DaysOfCode

Day 8: VS Code works with PHP, it works it works it works! Not only that but I can actually run things in the terminal and type some kind of input. Thanks @sandyFoCodes for your help, now I won't feel dread when trying to move away from NetBeans 😆 #100DaysOfCode

Day 6: Finished draft 1 of my PHP guessing game! Some refactoring needed for readability, but it works. Decided my next mini project will be something not relating to months/dates/seasons/star signs, fab practice for error handling but getting a bit old now 😅 #100DaysOfCode

Day 5: making a simple 'guess what month it is' PHP game. Trying to use what I've refreshed with functions and arrays in the last few days. Haven't managed to type a user input directly in VS Code's console, is that even possible? Must be, but it's escaping me! #100DaysOfCode

Day 3: Refreshed myself on arrays and loops in PHP. Solved not one but two LeetCode problems today! Even just a few days in I can already feel my brain jumping back more quickly to the old thinking pathways for problem solving - here's to consistency! #100DaysOfCode
