@crgjkrk2 @KyleKirshe86508 She considers this the moment in which her family is complete, maybe a special moment to reflect about the process. Is this really so hard to understand(

@JoeB31962 @searlebaseball What? The Mets brought him back after this HR. Stearns signed him to the biggest AAV contract in history for a first baseman. Pete opted out after the first year.

@Reactively @jakeandree @MetCastPod So what you're telling me is that you are convinced Stearns was lazy, didn't call enough teams and made a deal while there was another deal out there for another player for less money that would've been better? Mets fans have lost their fucking mind and it's absolutely hilarious

@Reactively @jakeandree @MetCastPod Under what system??? There hasn't been a system since Sandy Alderson retired. Can't you understand that hiring and firing people since 2018 is NOT normal??Stearns had success in milwaukee, sadly the Mets have no choice but to let him cook. To me, it's truly baffling u dont get it

@seanpbritton @RDemeo @JustinCLeto @Mets Don't forget the Mets signed Alonso to the biggest AAV contract for a first baseman in HISTORY. He opted out. Also, you a grown ass man insulting people on twitter over baseball lol get a grip

@seanpbritton @RDemeo @JustinCLeto @Mets Yeah no shit 4/5 years would be a good deal. But these deals for first basemen are tricky. If they regress with the bat, they bring absolutely ZERO value to the table. No baserunning, no fielding, no walks, no hitting with RISP. You're stuck with a horrendous contract.

@Reactively @jakeandree @MetCastPod Why does he have to be a top 100 prospect for it to be a good trade? You’re moving a 32 yearold reliever you don’t need and using Cohen’s money to improve the return. If the prospect is meaningfully better because you ate salary, that’s the entire point

@Reactively @jakeandree @MetCastPod You’re literally describing organizational instability lol. Firing the head of baseball operations, promoting someone else and giving them a “don’t fuck up or you’re fired” mandate is exactly the revolving door I’m talking about. You don't even know if the FO team sucks as well

@Reactively @jakeandree @MetCastPod Look, I don’t give a shit about who’s calling the shots. If it works, why would I care? But we can’t lose our heads and criticize everything. The Mets haven’t had a GM last 3 years since Sandy retired. At some point you need organizational stability. This guy needs to figure it o

@Reactively @jakeandree @MetCastPod And calling Weaver a quality reliever on a “reasonable contract” ignores the context. He’s 32 with a 4.58 career ERA making 22M. Pittsburgh was never taking on that full salary. When have the Pirates ever paid a reliever anywhere near 11m? Mets had to eat money to for trade value

@Reactively @jakeandree @MetCastPod Whether those prospects worked out has nothing to do with the point. Retaining salary increases trade value. You completely changed the argument lol dbacks ate 24M on Greinke and got 3 top P. This isn’t some Stearns invention. Teams use cash to increase trade value all the time

@Reactively @jakeandree @MetCastPod What are you talking about? That’s literally how salary retention works. The Mets ate $35M on both verlander and scherzer specifically to improve the prospect return. Paying down salary to get a better prospect is normal asset management
