Recently, I had the opportunity as Minister of State at the Department of Health to make statements to the Dáil to mark the 20th anniversary of the introduction of the smoking ban to Ireland. While we have made progress, 18% of people in Ireland still smoke. We must do more to promote public health.
@ColmBurkeTD Three people seem interested there.
@ColmBurkeTD I wish you the best of luck in your new role Minister. You have a tough road ahead of you.
@ColmBurkeTD The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has recommended to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) that cannabis be reclassified as a Schedule III controlled substance, which could have significant implications going forward. What can we learn from this minister?
@ColmBurkeTD Smoking's a choice,is children suffering ? cancelled 800 chemo appointments for children last year, children with scoliosis suffer on in horrendous agony, children with mental health issues(8,000 plus) cannot get assessed, children's dental services collapsed, didn't mention adults🙏
@ColmBurkeTD this can’t seriously be what you’re focused on? there’s much bigger issues to pay attention to as drugs minister. cannabis reform now.
@ColmBurkeTD Will you ask the person beside you why he also lied to children with scoliosis and why he lied to their families. It is nothing short of despicable. The now taoiseach lied to them 7 years ago , but he couldn't stand up in the Dail yesterday and give an apology. Ye are a disgrace.
@ColmBurkeTD Will @ColmBurkeTD follow science and call for the legal regulation of cannabis and the decriminalisation of non-problematic adult cannabis users, or will @ColmBurkeTD reject science by allowing for non-problematic adult cannabis users to continue having their lives destroyed?
