Why will the SAFE-T Act make Illinois safer? It will prevent dangerous criminals from paying bail to get out. How is @saolakecountyil preparing for the end of cash bail in January? His office has already started filing determinations about who should be released in preparation.

The US DOJ had a consent decree covering the @CityHPIL police before there was one for Chicago. Officers targeted Latinos for stops using the code word "sombreros." Hispanics were also evicted from low-income housing to build Renaissance Place. @HousingOpp patch.com/illinois/skoki…

Did you know?: Under @Eric4LakeCounty black people have gone from 5% of participants in diversion and deflection programs in Lake County to 30-something %. Diversion = avoiding charges, deflection = avoiding courthouse. These programs are no longer only for the rich!
