Inviting BBIPOC educators 2 trainings, workshops organised by whyte spaces doesn't make 1 'not racist', 'diverse', 'inclusive'. Also, schools celebrating their anti-racism trainings & sharing 'successes' continue 2 perpetuate racism. U r still perpetuating violence & r complicit.

So yt (NOT a derogatory term and please look beyond the first definition that pops up on google) people say they want to work on anti-racist policies. However, what's obvious is the privileging of yt ppl's comfort. They mostly want to work with those POC who will not challenge

Whiteness is not just abt whyte folx & how they benefit from it but also abt folx of colour who do everything possible 2 deny racism, gaslight other POC & uphold yt supremacy. Centuries of indoctrination, modes of survival & being mammals also create a form of Stockholm syndrome.

10 Black and POC orgs! Together we are powerful, divide and conquer will no longer work. Structural racism in Scotland & the youth work sector will soon be called out and evidenced. Very much looking forward to seeing our voices in @rowenaarshad’s upcoming report.

Just a reminder 2 those claiming 2 understand racism but uphold it in myriad ways, that 👉🏾 Awareness of racism ≠ Understanding of racism. Reading books, listening 2 POC, attending trainings NEED 2 translate into action. It shdn't continue to uphold stasis, inertia & yt hegemony.
