the sad thing is, this would be such an easy fix. at the top of every va benefit letter (or a cover page) should be a short list of the benefits you’re currently receiving, education, compensation, etc. fedweek.com/armed-forces-n…

vp and appointees get raises while shutdown continues. wrong on multiple levels, but first and foremost: why are raises on the table at all for this level of civil servant? which one of them is in their position for the money? and don’t go spreewell on me

The VA secretary was supposed to speak to a group of hundreds of student veterans Friday, following a debacle last semester when GI BIll recipients didn't get paid on time. @TaskandPurpose reports he canceled on them.

Tonight, I asked Scott Perry (R-Pa.) about effect of fed employees being furloughed. He argued it had no real impact since employees eventually get paid back. "Who’s living that they’re not going to make it to the next paycheck?"

When we look at Auschwitz we see the end of the process. It's important to remember that the Holocaust actually did not start from gas chambers. This hatred gradually developed from words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanisation & escalating violence.
