Day 12 The Irish Times has branded me a business failure to the nation. Just because I couldn’t sustain paying 23% VAT in a diesel crisis etc. This is the same Irish Times who lobbied the Govt relentlessly to reduce their own VAT rate from 9% to 0% in 2022. They hailed it as an “end to tax on information” But not only do they no longer pay VAT…. the Irish Times Group has been paid €2.5million+ by Coimisiún na Meán since 2024 ! ! Lucky ducks ! Yet, despite all these resources, they have not been able to report the latest Dublin Social Housing statistics… like the failed business-man, pay his VAT.

What a shocking piece of journalism. @Nick_Delehanty loses a business that employed people, and the @IrishTimes decides to kick him while he is down, branding him a “failed election candidate” and attaching several other negative labels, including “anti-multiculturalism,” which is not even an accurate description of his position. Nick has written extensively about government overspending, the cost of IPAS, the people becoming millionaires from Ireland’s immigration system and many other important issues. Yet those stories receive little or no attention from the mainstream media. His business folds, however, and suddenly it becomes a national story. This is the Irish media at its worst. Go after the messenger, ignore the message and celebrate when a dissenting voice suffers.

Day 7: Still no mainstream coverage of new Dublin City Housing statistics. Yet just two months ago, Simon Harris spoke to journalists directly on this. He called claims that non-Irish applicants get social housing first “disinformation”: “It’s disinformation. It’s unhelpful, unfair and untrue.” “I don’t see the benefit in nationality as an instrument.” “Can you provide any evidence, or can anybody provide any evidence, that people of different nationalities to Irish people are getting a home quicker than an Irish person…? I’d really welcome that.” … any chance the establishment would like to revisit this in light of fact that 9% of the housing list is Somalian Or that 1 in 3 houses is are going to non-Irish?

@CarrollJennifer says people are free to say what they want, promote what they want or listen to what they want in a democracy, as long as the content is lawful. Is it lawful to abuse a baby for sexual gratification? No it is not. Are groups in Ireland platforming & promoting a practice that involves the abuse of babies for male sexual gratification? Yes they are. Is the Minister obliged to state the Government’s position on child abuse? Yes she is. What does she say? “People are in this country entitled to attend things. Today’s @irishdailymail publishes an article stating that @CarrollJennifer “has dismissed concerns about a conference on breastfeeding that was set to host a speaker who specialises in helping men lactate for ‘curiosity, fun, or sexual gratification.” McNeill said “I think there’s a lot of different issues in gender healthcare… but I think this story has been taken & made something more than it is. And I think I will leave it at that.” So if a senior Irish Minister is not prepared to stand up for the most vulnerable in our society, newborn infants, from what is clearly a breach of safeguarding, what use is she to us here in Ireland? As Sarah Carey stated in the @Independent_ie “If mainstream parties want to keep the far right out, their task is straightforward, if challenging, take your voters’ concerns seriously. Stop shaming them for their opinions. Or as a commentator in the Financial Times put it this week, “If reasonable people don’t address reasonable voters’ reasonable concerns then unreasonable people will.” It is very reasonable to expect the Minister for Health to take the safeguarding of infants very seriously. If she can’t or won’t do that, she must step aside and allow someone who will. Babies are not props for men’s fetishes.

Extremely frustrating to listen to Taoiseach Micheál Martin on RTE Radio 1 this morning. He basically said it’s a good idea for data centres to get reductions on their gas while at the same time saying it’s nothing to do with him and it’s the regulator. He was told all the centres will produce as much CO2 as 27 coal plants (after we’ve been told to stop using fossil fuels like turf and briquettes) yet tried to make out as if it’s the opposition framing things in a certain way. The same fella who then started to try and convince us all is grand by saying ‘this is the new normal’ when it comes to sky high fuel prices. I was contacted by a pensioner last week who is choosing between getting a full food shop or filling a couple of barrels of kerosene for their home to stay warm. This government have shown they do not give a bollox about Irish people. Electricity prices rising, diesel at over €2 a litre, kerosene at €1.60 a litre, public transport fares being increased, your weekly shop price rising, childcare prices sky high, wages low, taxes high, 17,000 homeless, (6000 of them children), MILLIONS being made on exploiting IPAS centres and migrants, MILLIONS on security huts and bike sheds, road tolls going up, car insurance going up, property taxes going up, thousands on waiting lists at hospitals, thousands stuck in their box room in their parents late into their 30’s, rents sky high, property prices sky high, should I go on? I BEG YOU, I literally BEG YOU to VOTE THEM OUT next time there’s an election. Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael and the Independents are horrible, horrible people. So much suffering. Yet they say ‘they’ve done lots’ to help. Make up your own mind.

Children’s Health Ireland (#CHI) deemed Roxanne ineligible for the surgery. The Carlow family were subsequently denied HSE funding, so they had to find their own way to save her life. Ms Nolan Kelly’s feeling of being “neglected” by CHI began when Roxanne spent four years on a waiting list for surgery on her legs and pelvis. While she acknowledges some aspects of healthcare in Ireland function very well, she cannot understand the lack of transparency surrounding the care of children with scoliosis.
