Women are constantly told (most frequently by other women) that "situationships" and casual sex should feel good and liberating. However, when they are struck with feelings of guilt and shame after sleeping with the latest chad on the conveyor belt, they are unable to shake the feeling that something has gone terribly wrong. Unfortunately, the only inviolable rule still standing in today’s barren sexual landscape is consent, so women naturally conclude that they only feel so terrible about having sex because either consent wasn’t given, or, if it was, it was somehow coerced. I submit that there is no such thing as getting consent in human sexual relations. Sex is a shared act, two people being intimate may end up having sex. Should one of them pull away and end the interaction saying No means that the person said No. Not that they “withdrew consent”. There are no sex contracts. You do not ask for permission. If you do not have permission the other person is going to stop you. This is called “being denied”. Now if you should insist and force yourself on her, this is called rape…not sex without consent.
