Squeezing in some more 🎬📺 before the end of January. I watched The Butterfly Effect, Shutter Island, and am three episodes into The Curse. Will hold off on thoughts for The Curse, but man, I love Nathan Fielder. Also, the look/cinematography and score are standouts.
Watched The Creator. That world seems like it would suit a video game really well.
Rewatched one of my favorites tonight, Children of Men. Haven’t seen it in a while. Could talk endlessly about it. If it were made today it would be 3 hours long, instead, it’s a brief hour and forty and it packs so much beauty into every frame. Shoutout to the extras who make the world so believable. Incredible work, still love it.
So far in Feb: Watched Tusk. Got Crave for new Curb, checked out The Traitors, and am rewatching The Jinx to refresh for the update. If you haven’t seen The Jinx, watch it. Amazing twist if you’ve not had the true story spoiled for you. Still good even if you know, seeing it play out is nuts.
Completed The Jinx, still has such an unbelievable ending — worth watching just for that. Curious what the update season will be. Also watched Pig! 🐖
Completed the first season of the live-action Avatar. Focusing on the good, I’ll say, the actor who plays Sokka is great. And Ken Leung, too.
Finally watched Sicario after so many recommendations (and DV having 2 movies in my top 10). I think Society of the Snow or Past Lives will be up next! My road to watching 50 movies in a year continues!
Over the weekend I watched The Prince of Egypt and Poor Things. Blown away by some of the artwork in PoE, especially it being released in 1998! Lots of thoughts on Poor Things, all I’ll say for now is that I guess someone found out how to do Wes Anderson 2.0.
Went to the theatre for Dune 2. I really should have watched a recap beforehand.
American Fiction was fantastic. Been awhile since a movie has been able to sustain solid humor from start to finish with me. 🏆
Just saw Civil War in the theatre. I almost declared Dune Part 2 as my last theatrical experience due to always having the absolute worst experiences because of other people. Anyway, solid action movie. There are two moments of SFX that nearly gave me a heart attack.
Also started Fallout last night (1 ep) and found it highly entertaining. Excited to continue.
@CooperBibaud I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed it. It was great
