@morganedits1992 @spann 100% agree that they could do a better job communicating the lengths they go to mitigate smoke and it’s related hazards.

@morganedits1992 @spann (2) Tightly controlled by the Alabama Forestry Commission and coordinated with other burns across the state. I get that it is bothersome. And most people simply don’t understand. But it really is well thought out and coordinated and for the overall good. Hope this helps!

@morganedits1992 @spann (1) 23 million forested acres in Alabama. 1.6 million publicly owned. Need to burn most on 2-3 year interval. They burned 4500 acres (2.8%). Many sites only have 1-2 days per year that all variables come together to allow a safe burn that will meet the management objectives.

@morganedits1992 @spann They choose the safest conditions for the burn, that impact the fewest people possible, while also producing the most desired results for wildlife and habitat (as well as fuel reduction). So, although briefly inconvenient, overall a net positive. Very intelligent.

@morganedits1992 @spann These prescribed burns are very important for too many reasons to mention here. They have to be conducted under very specific “prescribed” conditions during certain seasons (often Jan-Mar). Very few days meet these exact conditions. So when these days occur many fires take place.

@johnnymaga Why are all these daycares run by young men? I have never seen that before. Generally a woman, with lots of childcare experience. Odd.

When Congress asked President Washington to declare America's first NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER & THANKSGIVING, his proclamation of Nov. 26, 1789, noted "it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor." We do well to remember that today. Have a happy, blessed #Thanksgiving. "Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever." Psalm 118:1
