God requires to set up his throne in the heart, and to reign in it without a rival: if he be kept out of his right, it matters not by what competitor.

I would love to see the annual meeting become a Solemn Assembly. I know we have some important issues to deal with but “we are not right.” Let’s get right first. We need to humble ourselves, repent and fall on our face before a HOLY GOD! God cannot be pleased with us my friends.

I have some REALLY GOOD NEWS to share. God is saving people in SMALL TOWNS all across North America. In our church in Northwest New Mexico we have seen baptisms for 12 weeks in a row. Christ followers are taking the Great Commission seriously and lives are being changed!

@dhmccain What if all we knew of the #SBC was from Baptist twitter users who ALL agreed that the only time they would tweet was after they had a gospel conversation where someone experienced new life in Christ?

@TGC When we are obedient to Christ and we “go make disciples” the world will be changed! In fact the world IS being changed by the gospel. My community is being changed by the gospel! Two churches in small towns in our area have (combined)baptized over 50 people so far this year!!!

Today, President Biden raised the refugee ceiling to 62,500. The delayed decision comes after pushback from leading evangelical resettlement orgs and advocates. christianitytoday.com/news/2021/apri…

We just need to make sure our planning doesn’t leave out the work of the Holy Spirit! Always be ready!

@nathanrose33 I also think the reality of the resurrection should interrupt our lives every time we are presented with the opportunity to have a gospel conversation.

Acts 5:42 ESV And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they did not cease teaching and preaching that the Christ is Jesus.

The struggle with greatness and significance and value in ministry is a haunting one. Comparison and disappointment can be a plague. Especially in a pandemic. Without being complacent we must learn how to keep score like Jesus.

Yes based on 2 Cor. 5, anything we do antithetical to the heart of Jesus tarnishes our new life and hinders our ability to be ministers of reconciliation and ambassadors for Christ!

There is not a single person of color or woman as an agency head or seminary president in the SBC. Out of all of our state conventions, there is only 1 black state exec. The diversity in our seminary faculties and boards of trustees is also abysmal. Very sad!!!

@BethMooreLPM @toddbenkert Women and people of color are in leadership but I guess not what you are looking for so ok. I serve with many women and my EC chairman is African American. Now we are bringing back a decrying of a lack of charismatic practices into the generalizations of SBC wrongs. Good grief

I’m happy about the upcoming meeting but when you gather how do you answer the question, “Why do we have only one black state exec & NO black seminary presidents or agency heads in the SBC? Actions speak louder...

Ronnie Floyd @ronniefloyd

Southern Baptists have acknowledged and spoken very clearly about the roots of our convention and against the sinful rot of racism that has no place, no welcome, and no future in the SBC, biblical Christianity, or the Kingdom of God. (THREAD 1/8)

A significant number of churches in our “evangelical denomination didn’t baptize a single person over the past 12 months. A different kind of wrestling is needed!

I wish pastors of small churches had the chance to wrestle with the complexities of leading a large church. I wish Pastors of large churches would remember the complexities of leading a small church. Not helpful to moralize size dynamics...
