This whole Macklemore situation is so spiritually Palestinian. Ed Sheeran became one of the biggest musicians in the world by writing good music, he built an audience, and people spend hundreds of dollars to come hear his music. Macklemore gets invited onto that stage and decides to hijack Ed Sheeran’s concert for his political rally. Ed built the stage and brought the audience, and Macklemore decided he was entitled to commandeer it for his demented cause. And when Ed Sheeran tells him this is a concert, not a political rally, and he doesn’t want to take sides, he becomes the villain. This is Palestinianism. You build nothing. You bite the hand that feeds you. You leech onto things other people built and destroy them. These parasites have hijacked every institution, every cultural event, everything other people built, and feel entitled to selfishly destroy it for their tribal clan politics.

Canada’s greatest weakness may be its arrogance, the belief that we remain a global example simply because we keep telling ourselves we are. We boast about our healthcare, institutions, economy and moral leadership while ignoring the dysfunction, declining services and falling standard of living right in front of us. Patriotism is not pretending everything is fine. It is caring enough about your country to confront reality, demand better and do the hard work required to rebuild it. Canada’s reputation cannot survive indefinitely on nostalgia and self-congratulation. A country that believes it is above criticism will soon find itself beneath the standards it once claimed to represent.

Marriage used to be the starting point. Two people would come together with almost nothing to their name, but each other, and then they would build everything side by side. This process of building led to bonding, it built loyalty, it required tremendous sacrifice and most of all it taught interdependence. But now we are told the opposite. We are told instead that we need to have it all before we marry. We need a good career, a home, a bunch of money in the bank, your entire identity discovered and solidified, a passport filled with stamps, a degree and much dating experience. The problem with this is that by the time two people finally decide to join one another, well they have spent most of their lives learning how to do life alone. So it is not wonder then that building a life with someone else, suddenly feels so much harder. Marriage used to be a beginning, not it is an after thought to an already built life. Two already self-sufficient and self-reliant people do not easily merge and mesh. It is hard to go from the perspective of “mine”, to “ours”, when individualism is all we have ever known. And this is why individualism has become the death of marriage.

Let me explain the technical problem for US/Canada/Mexico trade and why this trade dispute is so consequential. NAFTA 2.0 essentially treats North America as one giant market. Not absolutely but lots of benefits afforded to counter parts inside not afforded to countries outside. China recognizes the US has become much more restrictive on trade with China. So China says, I can still get the benefit of trade with the US by routing my trade through Mexico or Canada. Oddly enough, the US is saying to Mexico and Canada, we want the assurance that when we buy a product that says Made in Mexico it is made in Mexico with as many non-Chinese parts as possible, by non-Chinese workers, and by non-Chinese firms. It's kind of amazing that Canada objects to that idea. What is notable is that Mexico has actually cooperated with the United States on these trade issues. This is not to say they are perfect no country is, even the US is not, but Mexico has decided very clearly its interests are best served by blocking Chinese activities like trans-shipment. US-Mexican trade is booming. Conversely, Canada is actively undermining US interests by signing deals with Beijing and rejecting American requests to block and take actions on things like trans-shipment, high risk imports, and money laundering just to name a few. You can rail against the US and Trump all you want but the basic requests are not burdensome or anything draconian. If Canada really wants to align itself as the conduit for Beijing into the North American market, that is your sovereign right to pursue that course of action. It is also the US sovereign right to say we disagree with that and will not bind ourselves to your agreements with Communist China. Sorry not sorry

Thats the 1% of the 1% When incomes alone no longer allow you at any level to have wealth you are living in a Feudalist society For most of the world this has always been standard- people who travel know that western idea of middle class doesnt exist in most places Part of globalisation is deepening of world markets - as the wealth is spread across the world you also redistribute that middle class wealth elsewhere So globally standard of living on average is higher in an absolute sense but it means the west also reverts back to the norm If you are familiar with other countries its jarring when people in west complain about not having enough to buy a house or get holidays - for most the world they already live that as the standard The "middle class" is already an outdated term - there is no real middle class the way it use to be defined

If you want to know why you have never been richer on paper but never been poorer just look at Japan The way the wealth gets taken from you isnt nominally its in real terms You will recognise it in Japan right now where people in Japan still make same yen but lost alot of purchasing power overseas due to exchange rates. Thats already happening to western currencies - when things get bad it wont be because nominal prices are down its because purchasing power is declining rapidly Remember also that when any fiat based system crashes and people lose their wealth its not the way you think It does not end with markets crashing down it ends with markets hitting ath to ath into hyperinflation not in a crash down Crashes only happen in healthy markets! Remember that the yen, won, yuan all once started as low denominated currencies starting at 1. Now 1000 is 1. The west doesnt end with people with no money it ends with everyone being millionaires

Because in that world, a woman with a gender studies degree cannot compete with a man with an axe. She NEEDS the patriarchal structure to survive. Feminism is a luxury belief that only exists when men have already made life so safe and comfortable that women can afford to pretend men aren't necessary. You will never see feminism in a war zone. In a famine. In a collapsing country. In a village with no running water. You only see it in first-world countries, in safe cities, where men have built everything so well that women forgot who built it. That's why feminism can only exist INSIDE patriarchy. It could never survive OUTSIDE it.

This is a superficial and ultimately destructive way of framing the problem. Women deal with the profound biological burden of reproduction: menstruation, pregnancy, childbirth, and menopause. That is real, costly, and non-negotiable. No serious person denies it. But the complementary burden that has fallen on men for the entire history of our species is equally non-negotiable and far more lethal. Men have been the ones who die in war — by the tens of millions. Conscription, combat, and the obligation to stand between the tribe and existential threat have been almost exclusively male responsibilities. Men occupy the overwhelming majority of the most dangerous occupations on the planet: commercial fishing, logging, mining, roofing, heavy construction, oil-rig work, long-haul trucking. The workplace fatality statistics are not subtle. Year after year, 90–95 % of occupational deaths are male. Men also take more physical and psychological risks. That is why they invent more, explore more, and die younger — from accidents, from violence, from suicide. The male suicide rate is not a minor footnote; it is a catastrophic and chronic reality. These are not interchangeable complaints. They are complementary sacrifices. One sex carries the primary cost of creating new life. The other sex carries the primary cost of protecting that life and extracting the resources necessary to sustain it from a dangerous and indifferent world. To reduce the entire male side of this ancient division of labour to “what do men deal with?” as if the answer were “nothing of consequence” is not compassion. It is a deliberate refusal to look at the hierarchical and sacrificial structure of reality itself. The proper response is not grievance. It is gratitude for the complementary burdens that have kept the species alive, and the individual responsibility to carry one’s own share of them without self-pity.

If you refuse to call him ‘she’, you are guilty of unpardonable cruelty. If you’re a woman who wouldn’t want to share a locker room with him, or a man who wouldn’t want your daughter, sister or mother to get undressed in close proximity to him, you belong to the far-right. If you point out that there is no objective difference between his claim to be a woman and that of any other biological male claiming a trans identity, you are too stupid to understand the circular arguments explaining why he’s not really trans whereas other men who say they’re women are really trans. If you’re righteous, you must argue that this man’s self-declared identity overrides any consideration of the safety and rights of females. To be godly, you must agree he’s as ‘valid’ as every other trans woman, because people are who they say they are. No matter what your eyes, ears and common sense are telling you, if you don’t want to end up on the wrong side of history, you must pretend to believe that this angry, intimidating man is actually a vulnerable, oppressed woman.

Not getting married and not having children feels like a great decision when you are 30 But you learn that it was a poor decision when you are 50 I see it all the time with clients. Guys will make millions over their life and have nothing to do with it. Most psychologically normal people get over collecting material possessions pretty quickly. There is only so much you can travel before it starts to feel the same and quite frankly, very exhausting.
