Bitcoin's 7-day average hashrate is back above 1 ZH/s, its highest since 3 March, per BlocksBridge (via NewsBTC).
For a Bitaxe, that means a smaller slice of every block: your odds are your hashrate divided by the network's. Solo stays a lottery, not a wage.
Context: 1 ZH/s is 1,000 EH/s. BlocksBridge's 22 October Miner Weekly also logged a 5.92% difficulty increase on 16 October.
Its point: a miner pivoting to AI doesn't remove hashrate if the machines are sold or moved and keep hashing elsewhere.
And more network hashrate doesn't mean more income per machine. Same hashrate, bigger network, smaller share.

@LarkDavis Solo math at 1 ZH/s: a Bitaxe Gamma at its 1.07 TH/s factory setting is about one billionth of the network. At ~144 blocks a day, that averages one block every ~17,800 years. Odds scale linearly, so a 4.9 TH/s NerdQaxe++ is ~3,900 years. A lottery ticket, not income.

@Fiskantes Small catch on the BTC idea: merged mining only works between chains with the same proof of work. DOGE uses Scrypt, which is why its AuxPoW parent is LTC. Merging with BTC would first mean moving DOGE to SHA-256. Pepecoin already rides the same Scrypt work.
@skot9000 Four BZM2s on one board is a good use of the 256,000 chips Block's Proto donated to the 256 Foundation. Where does the 1004x land per chip: near the Foundation's conservative 0.3 TH/s at 0.7 V, or pushed toward Intel's 580 GH/s spec?
