Now, there’s 2 main types of harm reduction orgs: Peer/mutual aid (community, no hierarchy, radical leftism/anarchism), & public health (professional, med staff, external resources referrals). Some try to be both, but will probably have to choose one type in the next few years.

The more I read these panicked articles about places like NYC and San Francisco being 'unsafe', the more I realize it's not about crime at all - just discomfort with poverty being more visible
if u are going to ask someone to speak at u org/event, ask them what their rates are and pay them! don't expect people to share their knowledge/skills/lived experience for free (esp don't expect people to share their experiences of trauma/criminalization/stigmatization for $0).
