Reynaldo López, who has allowed 2 runs in 25 innings in 4 starts, is just the second #Braves pitcher in the Atlanta era to allow 1 or no runs in 6 or more innings in each of his first 4 starts with the team, joining Aaron Harang, who did it in 5 straight in 2014.
López & Harang are among 7 MLB pitchers since 2000 who allowed 1 or no runs in 6 or more innings in each of their first 4 starts with a team. Others: Cliff Lee (PHI, 2009), Kenta Maeda (LAD, 2016), Justin Verlander (HOU, 2017), Cody Anderson (CLE, 2015), Mat Latos (ChiSox, 2016)
@DOBrienATL Watching Lopez pitch, I am impressed with how free and easy his pitches are, it is almost like he is palying catch in his back yard.
@DOBrienATL I say we shut him down, put him in bubble wrap until late August and then bring him back. Has he ever pitched more than 100 innings? With Strider gone, we need him to pitch like this in the playoffs. I’d rather win a WS than 100+ games.
@DOBrienATL He pitched great a deserved a better result. Snitker has the closer situation backwards. He needs to switch the setup man with the clown that keeps blowing saves.
@DOBrienATL What I’m hoping is he will carry along throughout the entire season and not be like Elder who was awesome in the 1st half and not so good in the 2nd.
