People who own instead of working are upset they're still going to be taxed less than workers.
@DTCochrane Unless of course their wealth happens to be in residential real estate, those folks came out just fine!
@DTCochrane Exactly, the inclusion rate for capital gains, i.e. the % of income actually taxed, should be 100% (not 66%) and it should be at the same rate as the baker and teacher pay.
@DTCochrane “People who own”? What is that? Anything like “people with a cervix”, or “people with a penis”?
@DTCochrane Where do you think people get money from to own things? What do you think people who own stuff do every day? 🤦♀️Is it a sin to own a condo or a car?
@DTCochrane Do you know what happens when you tax people who own? They pass the tax back to the consumer at margin. So everything gets more expensive, but at least you feel good until the bill comes in.
@DTCochrane Simple solution. Tax non primary residential. Tax investors out of single family housing.
@DTCochrane Weird can you point me to entrepreneur that owns and works hard for his business and relies on cap gain as compensation for risk he took. You must think jobs are created by govt or academic grants outs of thin air.
