Like you said, Zomato is conveniently blaming it on customers,whereas they built this scheme to maximise customers benefits to maximise on subscription revenue

Restaurants are free to independently create any loyalty program that they wish. These programs don’t disrupt the market, they increase loyalty within existing customers towards the particular brand.
