Reckon I'm the one of a minority who thinks this. Shoot me. FA Cup replays are outdated, and let's also remember the chances of any small club getting a money-spinning FA Cup replay are so ridiculously miniscule.
I'd hazard a guess that a lot of clubs probably lose money on FA Cup replays, played midweek with small attendances and quick turnarounds on organisation. I reckon in the vast majority of cases FA Cup replays will not be missed.
@DaleJohnsonESPN How many EFL and NL clubs do you think agree with you, Dale? And why do you think they were excluded from the discussions? It suits the Premier League clubs, who complain about fixture congestion and see the FA Cup as an inconvenience.
@DaleJohnsonESPN Reckon I'm the one of a minority who thinks this. Shoot me. Lower league clubs playing in the FA Cup is outdated, and also let's remember the chances of any lower league club winning the FA Cup "are so ridiculously minuscule".
@DaleJohnsonESPN But that’s the beauty of it, no? It’s also not just about a payday - it’s an equaliser. Grimsby would not have made the quarter-finals last season had we not taken Luton to a replay. Not just about PL replays too - thinking of non-league clubs who get replays at EFL clubs.
@DaleJohnsonESPN Editor at ESPN, says it all really.
