J’ai pris note aujourd’hui de la nouvelle offre de Mark Carney d’obtenir le droit de m’assoir à sa table d’honneur à titre de spectateur, sans droit de parole ni droit de négocier au nom du Québec. Cette proposition revient à demander au Québec de rentrer dans les rangs, avec la vassalisation et l’invisibilisation du Québec que cela implique, en échange d’obtenir de meilleurs sièges de spectateurs pour regarder la partie. Comme premier ministre, je refuserai toujours que le Québec soit réduit au rôle de spectateur lorsqu’il s’agit de représenter et protéger les intérêts économiques et politiques des Québécois. La réalité est que nous sommes devant une stratégie de marginalisation du Québec sur la scène internationale et de subordination des champs de compétence du Québec à la volonté du fédéral. Je note à cet effet que tous les chefs de partis de l’Assemblée nationale ont indiqué hier que s’ils étaient dans la position de premier ministre et devant un tel sommet sur le territoire du Québec, ils s’attendraient à prendre la parole et à participer à part entière. À Ottawa, le chef de l'opposition officielle ainsi que le chef du Bloc Québécois ont également appuyé notre demande. J’ai donc pris la plume et j’ai écrit aux représentants de l’Union européenne pour leur rappeler que des ententes qui impliquent l’Europe et le Québec doivent forcément passer par le gouvernement du Québec, et à plus forte raison si le sommet se tient sur notre territoire. Le refus de nous donner la parole à titre d’hôte pour souhaiter la bienvenue à nos invités y est également mentionné. Je lance donc l’invitation pour une discussion bilatérale dans un meilleur contexte qui permettrait au Québec de ne pas être exclu. À ce titre, j’enverrai le diplomate en chef du Québec, Pascal Paradis, pour ouvrir ces canaux de discussion pour la suite.

La lutte des Québécois pour être « maîtres chez eux », c’est-à-dire pour prendre eux-mêmes les décisions qui orientent leur développement économique et social, a pris son essor lorsque Jean Lesage a fait comprendre aux banquiers de la rue Saint-Jacques que ce serait désormais le gouvernement du Québec, et personne d’autre, qui déciderait au nom des Québécois. Son message était clair : le Québec n’était plus à vendre, et son peuple devait être respecté. Cette posture a notamment permis la création d’Hydro-Québec et de la Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, qui demeurent parmi les leviers les plus importants de l’économie québécoise. La démarche de réappropriation de nos institutions démocratiques s’est poursuivie sous les gouvernements de René Lévesque, de Jacques Parizeau et de Bernard Landry. Or aujourd’hui, le gouvernement fédéral a décidé d’entreprendre des négociations avec l’Union européenne, qui touchent directement le Québec, sans consulter le Québec ni lui permettre d’avoir une place à la table des négociations, contrairement à ce qui s’était fait lors des négociations ayant mené à la création de la zone de libre-échange avec l’Union européenne. Souvenons-nous également que c’est aussi le Québec qui avait joué un rôle de précurseur dans l’appui à l’ALÉNA. Ainsi, non seulement le gouvernement fédéral refuse de consulter le Québec et de le faire participer aux négociations, il cherche à lui imposer des décisions économiques qui touchent à ses champs de compétence, en rupture complète avec la doctrine Gérin-Lajoie. Il va même plus loin sur le plan symbolique en refusant au premier ministre du Québec de prendre la parole dans le cadre d’un événement sur son propre territoire où les intérêts économiques du Québec seront négociés. Pire encore, le gouvernement fédéral voudrait nous faire croire que le fait, pour le premier ministre du Québec, d’obtenir la permission de servir des crevettes cocktail lors d’une réception constitue une forme d’influence acceptable et suffisante dans la représentation des intérêts du Québec. C’est non seulement un manque de respect grave, mais c’est surtout un important recul pour la capacité du Québec à agir de manière autonome et à défendre lui-même ses intérêts. La vision du Canada défendue par Mark Carney est celle d’un État fédéral centralisateur, voire unitaire, qui impose ni plus ni moins aux provinces un rôle d’observatrices dans des discussions qui touchent pourtant leurs intérêts fondamentaux et leurs champs de compétence. Cette vision entre directement en contradiction avec les principes défendus par notre gouvernement, notamment précisément le respect de notre autonomie et de nos champs de compétence. En début de mandat, il est essentiel d’établir clairement notre position pour la suite des choses : le Québec doit être la table des décisions pour défendre ses intérêts. C'est non négociable. M. Carney l'a bien dit lui-même : « Si on n’est pas à la table, on est au menu. »

Do you see the bigger picture of what just happened in British Columbia? If you think the few months were simply political infighting, you’re missing something much bigger. We had a democratically elected Conservative leader. A real conservative. Kerry-Lynne Findlay had grassroots support, a clear vision, and something rare in Canadian politics: the backbone to follow through. But there was a problem. She wasn’t aligned with the federal Liberals or the globalist agenda I believe is driving this country. She proposed a Western coalition to challenge federal overreach, fight the gun grab, defend freedom of religion and expression, enshrine property rights, and protect digital free speech. She wasn’t promising to fight back. She was preparing to do it. That threatened more than a few political careers. A provincial government willing to challenge Ottawa? A leader who couldn’t be controlled by the usual power brokers? That was a problem. Then came the operatives, lobbyists, and party insiders. The backroom scheming, attempts to undermine her leadership, and ultimately blackmail. I watched it unfold. And eventually, they got what they wanted. Goodbye KLF. Goodbye grassroots democracy. Party bosses installed their own leader without a membership vote, then moved to rewrite the constitution so he wouldn’t face a leadership race. The members elected a leader. Insiders replaced her and moved to change the rules to keep their man in power. No vote. No accountability. No voice for members. All TWO DAYS before an election writ dropped. Just another coincidence? Now zoom out. This is bigger than BC. Canada is being pushed toward centralized power, diminished freedoms, and increasingly powerless citizens. Call it globalism. Call it the political ruling class. Call it whatever you want. Look what’s happening. Mass immigration is transforming Canada, while election laws don’t require voters to produce documentary proof of citizenship. You can declare yourself a citizen without producing citizenship documents at the ballot box. In BC, you can vote without presenting your own ID if another voter vouches for you. Citizenship determines who shapes this country’s future. Why aren’t we demanding stronger verification? Non-citizens cannot legally vote. But a prohibition and the safeguards enforcing it are different things. Now ask yourself. If powerful political interests are shaping this country’s direction, how do you keep the population from revolting? Give them the illusion of choice. Change the jerseys. Change the faces. Give people a few victories. No more free drugs. A marginal tax adjustment. A handful of promises. The sheep celebrate. The sheep go back to sleep. Different shepherd. Same direction. Globalists advance their agenda. Government promises to reverse it, but doesn’t. Elections come and go, but the same insiders, lobbyists, and powerful interests remain. Canadians keep fighting over which jersey deserves their loyalty. The greatest political illusion is convincing people they’re in control while ensuring their choices never threaten those holding power. Give the sheep just enough hope. Just enough change. Just enough outrage at the other team. Keep them divided, distracted, and fighting each other instead of questioning who’s directing the herd. How many broken promises? Political betrayals? Conservative governments that conserve absolutely nothing? How much worse does Canada need to get before people wake up? Real change doesn’t come from changing jerseys. It comes from changing who holds power. The power brokers won this round in BC. But here’s what they should fear. The day the sheep realize they’re being herded is the day the shepherds lose control. Stop worshipping parties. Stop celebrating crumbs. Stop mistaking a change of jerseys for a change of direction. The illusion only works as long as we believe it. Wake up, Canada.

𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆: Gregory Sorbara donated another $1,750 to Mark Carney. Same last name. Same postal code. Same campaign. That's $3,500 if they're the same person. Twice the legal limit.
