Genuinely how are people actually hiring nowadays? I've just went through 200+ applications where a majority of the candidates had almost exactly the same professional summary, matched all of the criteria and requirements OR their CV had barely anything relevant in it. Can't really justify having 120+ screening calls, how are people doing this when everybody is adjusting their CVs with AI to the job posting? Can’t even try to gauge by personal projects when it’s non technical🫠

Getting early users and early feedback is much more important than founders realise. So many end up spending all of their time building before actually validating if users would be interested

@yesadok Not back to day one! All the effort you put in those 45 days still very much counts. Just took a few steps back, but it doesn’t discount the dedication you put in earlier - and only up from here

@theothello007 I’m often pro hiring interns, as long as the company has somebody in place who’d be able to train them! In this case unfortunately not possible😓

@Orvi_dev Yes, agreed! I’ll be implementing something with a quick Loom video required. Seems like these are now better ways to actually measure wether a candidate is a good fit🤔

@SabrinaSwenso11 Yes! The curious part is so important too - I’d be inclined to want to hire somebody who’s curious, motivated and a good problem solver over somebody who’s not but has more experience.

@SabrinaSwenso11 Exactly. There are too many competent candidates, who all have a good amount of experience, and realistically I’m guessing there’s at least a dozen candidates who’ve applied that would be a great fit.

@pigg_thomas It’s something I’ve previously only really done for technical roles, but it actually could be worth to check for this role too!🤔🙏

@SEOGuyChris I’m starting pretty much from the basics - need to figure out how to get a website to rank higher on Google😁 I’m on a mission to upskill myself, need to get a decent understanding how to work it before the end of the year
