Daniel Richards @Danielrich596

@Okthenmayb45071 @HHS3239 @ProtestantApolo @PastorAlone Jay said that live. Dw posed an intelligent dilemma and Jay replied, ‘We can give full worship to the icons because they pass on to Christ”. That is false and idolatry.

“We must not, indeed, give icons the true worship (latreia) of faith which belongs to the divine nature alone.”

Did Jay Dyer say you can give full worship (latreuó) to Icons of Christ!?!? I rest my case... Please never bring up icons to me again. I have always asked this question, and we finally got a clear answer. Thanks Jay. youtube.com/shorts/SwRVRnC…

@Okthenmayb45071 @HHS3239 @ProtestantApolo @PastorAlone That is wrong. Nicaea 2 warns against doing that. The difference between the icons made of wood is that they don’t possess the divine nature as Christ, that’s why Christ is the only unique icon of God. We venerate the icon, we do not treat the icon as christ

@AshMaiz @Acts17David @JayDyer Iconography is a losing argument without first arguing for the true church

@AshMaiz @John112512 @Acts17David @JayDyer I don’t think any orthodox Christian can successfully win the argument of iconography without first proving why it’s the true church. That’s why the “skeptometer” in David’s conclusion matters more than you think

@ByJimbob Jimbob, I’m not here to attack technicalities, you don’t even know which Francis I’m referring to. My point is that we should all strive to emulate the saints in so far as they followed Christ “Follow me as I follow Christ”

@posh_redneck @Rach4Patriarchy It’s just that when these debates are had, it always boils down to surface-level issues like kissing and candles. Its never about what it means to truly honor the saints, in my experience. I agree, it should be both
