Never challenging your children to consider missions and ministry while simultaneously encouraging them to pursue a good career will actually discourage them from pursuing missions. Part of why we don't have more missionaries is from not raising them.

I always enjoy hearing Bro Rex's testimony. What a life of service! Nearly 20yrs as a missionary in Columbia and Mexico, reaching Zapatec Indians, developing a writing system and doing Bible translation with them, training Mexican nationals, then over 25yrs serving at BBTI.

I visited Bro. Rex's display table at a camp I was attending while a teenager. He asked me if I would be a missionary. I told him that I didn't yet feel called. He asked "If you're not called to go, when did He call you to stay?" I didn't realize then how much that changed me.

Some interesting facts about language and phonetics: 1. There are over 7,000 known languages spoken throughout the world. Each has it's own unique set of sounds (phones). English has at least 44 basic phones.
