When I joined in 1987 as a young enthusiastic 20yo gay man, if someone had told me that the Green Party would one day be dithering over where it stood on the chemical castration of children I'd have run a million miles away and probably done something very different with my life.

Probably the weirdest comment I've had on why I'm speaking out. Given I haven't had a career in politics since I voluntarily stepped down from public office eight years ago and I'm definitely not looking for one now and really enjoying my music writing and my early retirement.

@DarrenJohnson66 With so much disillusionment about the main parties Greens have thrown away a golden opportunity. Never since their inception has there been a better time to do well electorally. BUT the biology deniers have infiltrated. Shame.
@DarrenJohnson66 @ShahrarAli Indeed. Or wanting to call women, 'non men'. It was infilitrated by mediocres looking for easy power and influence, see current leadership and those longstanding figureheads who abnegated their values and sold their souls.
@DarrenJohnson66 @EmmaBatemanGPW Time was when the Green Party wanted homeopathic medicine to be prescribed by the NHS.
