We’ve since started subcutaneous fluids every 36 hours and an appetite stimulant in conjunction with her blood pressure medication and potassium supplement. All of those things have substantially improved her health and mood. She’s as close to “normal” as we can be right now. 💕

Update on the Peaches. The first week after her discharge was a struggle. We had to run her into our vet twice in the same week to remedy her lack of eating, dehydration, and constipation (caused by all of the above).

Peaches is home. Her creatinine levels were still a little elevated. She has a recheck with the vet on Friday to see what those levels will do while she’s home. I just want her healthy again. That’s all I want 😭

As of Saturday, her kidney levels have decreased by half, which means we’re moving in the right direction. Right now it’s just continuing fluid therapy until they’re within or close to normal range, and we can get her home and learn the new normal of Kidney Support 💕

Update on the Peaches: Upon seeing the vet on Friday, it was discovered that she was in Acute Renal Failure. We started aggressive fluid therapy and moved her to a 24 hour veterinary hospital to continue treatment at the end of the day.

Update: Peaches goes into the vet first thing in the morning tomorrow. There’s some concern for her kidneys, so more rechecks to come.

Cats grieve too. It’s been a hard 2 weeks. Peaches hasn’t been herself the last few days. She hasn’t adapted to the “new” day to day very well. We’ve been in touch with our whole vet team, and we’re waiting a decision as to whether she may require more stabilization.

Will post updates as they come. We’re awaiting on a call from the Vet to find out what our next step is.

For context, her eating and drinking has drastically decreased the last few days. Lethargy, barely touching wet food, hovering over her water bowl without/barely taking drinks. She just had a blood & fecal panel which came out normal, but that was done one day after Meena died.

Meena peacefully crossed the rainbow bridge this morning. Our hearts are heavy, but she was a delight to all her crossed her path. Hold your companions close. 💔

Please pray for Meena. I woke up this morning to her hiding under the couch in respiratory distress. I rushed her to our local emergency vet. She’s been admitted and is currently on oxygen, but stable. My heart ❤️😭
