You can double-click any of your encrypted files to view or edit it. A file that was encrypted with your 'public' key will automatically be decrypted with your 'private' key. A file that was encrypted symmetrically with a 'secret' key, will require you to type that key.

Data Krypter™ uses a variant of NTRU called NTRU-2x2 (pronounced N T R U two by two). The name indicates the format of the keys: the public key uses 2 polynomials: h and H to encrypt and the private key uses 2 polynomials: f' (the inverse of f) and G to decrypt.

When encrypting a file/folder on your computer, you have the option of encrypting the original file name too.

Data Krypter will do both symmetric and asymmetric encryption. Symmetric encryption uses the same secret key to both encrypt and decrypt. Asymmetric encryption uses a public key to encrypt, and a private key to decrypt. (For extra security, private keys are encrypted.)
