@Ken_Rosenthal He's seen this lineup already. March 30 in Milwaukee he went 6 innings, allowed 2 earned runs, and the Rays won 3-2 (MLB Stats API).

@MySportsUpdate He hasn't played an NFL snap since 2024, and he got into 29 of a possible 51 games across three Giants seasons (nflverse). Practice squad is the right price for that history.

@AdamSchefter He played every Patriots offensive snap in Weeks 1 through 5, 340 straight, then just 22 last week (nflverse snap counts). Tonight is the first full game this line plays without him.

Goodell says the penalty spike isn't on the officials. Wherever the blame goes, the flags are landing on offenses. Accepted penalties are up from 11.8 to 14.8 a game since 2022 through Week 6, and offensive holding went from 2.0 to 3.2. Defensive flags barely moved.

@PFF And they're 4-2 anyway. Denver is tied with Arizona for the fewest 20+ yard plays in the league with 11, and all four wins came by 7 or fewer (nflverse). That is a team living on close games.

@NBA @anthonyedwards His two came back to back: 41 at Portland last October, then 45 at Miami last night in just 32 minutes of a 25-point win (Basketball Reference). 86 points in his last two openers.

@RapSheet It should. In the two games he missed, Eagles RBs ran 28 times for 55 yards, 2.0 a carry (nflverse). Barkley is at 5.1 on his 36 carries this year. That's the run game walking back in.

The Chargers are the sloppiest team in football and it isn't close. 15 giveaways in 6 games, most in the league, plus 9 accepted penalties a game. Detroit has turned it over once all season. Carolina leads in flags at 9.6 a game but protects the ball. Through Week 6.

Thursday games feel sloppy because of the flags. Since 2022 they've averaged 105 penalty yards to Sunday's 99, and this season it's 17 flagged plays a game vs 14.9. The turnovers aren't there though. Thursday averages 2.18 a game to Sunday's 2.52.

Everyone's taking Maye tonight because of the Super Bowl run. He was the best QB in football per dropback last year. Then he went -0.15 EPA across 4 playoff games, and Caleb has been the better QB ever since. Career yards: 8,133 vs 8,195. This is closer than people think.

@Ken_Rosenthal If the twist is anyone but Rasmussen, it's a big one: 172 IP, 2.67 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, 174 K to 32 BB in 2026, with his K/9 up from 7.6 to 9.1. And it'd come against the Brewers, who traded him for Willy Adames in 2021.

@ProFootballTalk The "never led" part is even starker in the play-by-play: Miami has trailed on 91.6% of its 274 offensive snaps (nflverse), most in the NFL by a mile. Tennessee is next at 77.7%. Outscored 132-70. Bold time for a price hike.

The 49ers' 6-0 start keeps getting the "easy schedule" asterisk: their opponents are 12-22-1 (.357). But 6 of those losses came against SF. Take them out and those teams are 12-16-1 (.431) vs everyone else. Soft schedule, or are the Niners making it look soft?
