No shortage of star power in this one. Lou Brock gave the #Cardinals the lead in the top of the 10th. Bob Gibson made the start for the Cards, but only lasted 3.1 innings, surrendering 5 runs on 6 hits. Ernie Banks went 3-5 with 4 RBI.

Opening Day 1965: #Cubs and #Cardinals play to a 10-10 tie in 11 innings. Game was called on account of darkness - lights wouldn't be installed at Wrigley for another 23 years. Ron Santo tied the game with an RBI double in the bottom of the 11th to avoid a loss.

1967: On opening day, Fergie Jenkins opens the season with a win, allowing 2 runs in a complete game effort. Fun write-up from @bleedcubbieblue on this strange picture taken (probably) on that day: bleedcubbieblue.com/2018/2/16/1702…

2004: Kerry Wood ties #Cubs single game record for consecutive strikeouts with 7 against the #Braves. Kid K got the W in 10-2 thumping of Atlanta at Turner Field. No cupcakes, either: victims in the streak included Chipper Jones, JD Drew, Andruw Jones, and Julio Franco.
