Hmmm…. I’m not sure how his constituents will feel? Should he not have stood down? Some vote party not people.

@DeborahMeaden I think it is symbolic. He is not changing his political mind. Just his team colours.
@DeborahMeaden thats the law if they dont change it then the rule stays
@DeborahMeaden A fundamental fallacy of our electoral system. We vote for the person not the party. Our system is upside down - what we think exists, doesn’t.
@DeborahMeaden Ahhh something we agree on jumping ship equates to a bi election in my book
@DeborahMeaden This voting party likely need this lesson. Hopefully he did this based on feedback from constituents.
@DeborahMeaden This alone gives him enough kudos to keep his seat
@DeborahMeaden We aren’t happy! As a once Labour supporter I cannot vote for this man. He doesn’t live locally and isn’t well thought of in the area. His voting record is abysmal and as reported in Private Eye dubiously still receiving payent from previous councillors job 🤷🏻♀️.
@DeborahMeaden Disagree with you for the first time Deborah. They may thing they’re voting party not people, but that doesn’t mean they are. We need PR
@DeborahMeaden Yeah let's have a by-election remember north shropshire Deborah only last month.
@DeborahMeaden There is no doubt if an election were held today Labour would win the seat comfortably so you could argue he is just reflecting "the will of the people". It's just not exactly the same people that voted for him.
