when did we stop stepping off the path? stop exploring for fun? we trudge along the same beaten path day after day after day, rationalizing it with "because that’s what adults do." the child inside of us is begging to see what’s beyond the mundane and draw outside the lines.

somewhere on the other end of your phone, tablet or computer, someone is lost in thoughts of you. constructing scenarios and reconstruction them over and over. they imagine the sound of your voice. your smell. your heartbeat. they paint what would happen if they actually met you.

my favorite thing is listening to her prattle on about what she’s truly passionate about. sincerely. it’s absolutely mesmerizing. i just eat it up. the way her eyes open and how she uses her hands and her exaggerated facial expressions. she is human poetry.

we aren’t always able to control or manage our feelings, sometimes the waves are too strong, and having someone who understands that and supports you unquestionably is rare. they make you feel like your heart is winning.
