Our hospital just updated Epic/MyChart to show an estimated discharge date, which is a little dark when your child is on end of life care 😬
Update: Someone fairly high up the food chain stopped by our room to apologize profusely and let us know they fixed the problem, and it has changed on our end.
@DefectiveBecca Oh damn! I hope they mean the discharge date is for in hospital and for him to go to Hospice? It seems rather insensitive. ☹️
@DefectiveBecca From what is practiced in most hospitals, every admission must have an EDD (estimated though), you are seeing it differently because your baby is on end of life care. I think it’s just procedures. Love to your family 🥰
@DefectiveBecca I am so, so sorry. This is one of countless examples of why I am such a staunch advocate for all parties to be at the table when decisions are made. This is NOT ok. ❤️
