@DefendMitchell … to the Health & Safety of the children and staff in my care (52 under 5’s and 4 staff). I had to go and see the head whilst the kid was sat in class. It’s only when I said I feel unsafe and would have to walk (effectively meaning the EY unit would need to close) did she relent

@DefendMitchell I got in lots of trouble last week when a kid who tested positive for Covid was in the classroom 2 days later. I pointed out to SLT gov advice is 3 days, starting day after + test to be told it’s ONLY advise, not statutory. I said I would walk out as I have a STATUTORY duty to…>

It is with great sadness that Mr Mitchell was sacked this week. In the final stages of an appeal the Governors cancelled one hearing as a panel member was ill. Then for the next hearing Mr Mitchell was ill but they continued without him and sacked him later that day 😢
