Users aren't always correct. People often don't know what they want or need from a design. And it's okay. What you do is interpret user feedback carefully and combine it with your expertise and user research. Voilà, your perfect design is here.

Should UX/UI designers be coding experts? No. Should they be technically literate? Yes. Having a basic understanding of frontend development will facilitate working with developers and ensure that designs are feasible to implement. Take care of your dev team.
