If you’re just starting out in Tech; Self learning won’t do you much good, it’s a hard pill to swallow but it won’t ngl. Get a mentor who’s willing enough to take you through a proper roadmap hence giving you speed and structure.🚏
@DevTobs mentors help but don't sleep on self-taught devs. i've seen too many grind their way up from docs and stackoverflow. it's about how bad you want it.
@DevTobs If anyone wants to learn Frontend development and needs a mentor, reach out to me—totally free but you have to be very serious.
@DevTobs there is a site that can show the learning roadmap of different tech skills: roadmap.sh
@DevTobs This is not true. Self learning is just about the primary way to go. Internet is free, u can search 4 the road map and all the questions u need. When u come to a mentor, ur questions would be like fine tuning the crude knowledge u have. Like a reference guide.
@DevTobs So I should sit and wait till I get a mentor?? Such a gba take, the mentor will find me when he’s ready
@DevTobs Misinformation, I am self taught from day 0 never had a mentor But how can I know if it did me any good tho? How to measure this?
@DevTobs I learnt graphic design with 2weeks with out mentor
@DevTobs There is nothing like ‘ self-learning’ - in the same context , if you are a beginner find a mentor / Tutor/
@DevTobs Having a mentor who supports you is invaluable. They’re hard to find, but if you do, cherish them and make them proud.
@DevTobs I was talking to my friend yesterday about his son's progress in tennis. He moved his son from $9/hour to $160/hour coaching with a state level coach. My friend mentioned the 30 minute coaching was worth more than 5 hours on court non-stop tennis.
@DevTobs Honestly it’s not been easy and getting a mentor another cost entirely 😭😭
@DevTobs You go work like Jackie, mentor una.
@DevTobs This is so true, but finding a mentor willing to put you on is one of truly hard out here….
@DevTobs If you are intentional,bro....you will learn fast as long as you have the resources....it's about consistency and positioning
@DevTobs Guys let's connect here Following back
@DevTobs But let’s not forget, some people "blow" just by consistently staying on their own lane. Nobody knows exactly when it clicks. Self-learning with patience, consistency, and curiosity can still take you farther than you think.
@DevTobs I have tasted mentorship and I have tasted self learning and I highly recommend self learning fr
@DevTobs Not necessarily true. It's about finding a well structured roadmap, knowing how you want to utilize the skill to get your end goal and going all in. Sometimes finding a proper mentor could be harder than self-learning itself.
@DevTobs Agreed 👍 I did everything by myself and it delayed my growth
@DevTobs You lie about this bro... We all have different orientations. You need ur brain and access to do whatever. Curiosity is the mother of all inventions... Inventions aren't TAUGHT... ✌🏾
@DevTobs not all wants to carry another along black man mentality.... i can do it if i JUST DO IT
@DevTobs Guys i am a product manager and i am currently hosting a new cohort which includes linkedin and CV optimization, Mentorship, portfolio development and management and also internship opportunities
@DevTobs But it depends with how discipline are you. U might have a mentor who is trying so much to help you but you're not willing to do what's needed for u.
