Listen, Man Utd might not thank me but get the contract out, put it on the table. Let him sign it, let him write whatever numbers he wants to put on there, given what he's done since he's come in. Carrick’s at the wheel, man. He's doing it.
He doesn’t have to totally bin his ideas off, or stop working towards them, but I genuinely think he would win more people over, and more games, if he adapted to what the team and games need every now and then.
It seems to be that if you question the manager’s reluctance to change shape, you’re deemed to be calling for his head. For many it’s quite the opposite. I like the guy, in many ways he’s good for this bunch, but surely he has to adapt for now and again
Yep. And that’s what I’m thankful for in this transfer window. A big worry was buying players purely for a system that might not get to the new year. That hasn’t been the case so we can either improve quick with Ruben, or move on without too much drama.
It's is completely reductive and unfair and obviously not going to happen and something the manager would totally reject as a concept but gonna say it anyway because we're all thinking it ... There's a very good 4-3-3 in this squad
I at least like this manager as a guy, and the squad seem to as well but results need to come quickly. Beyond Burnley it’s City (a), Chelsea (h) and Brentford (a). Not many guarantees there are there?
The fact of the matter is that we could once again, quite conceivably be 7 games in at the October break with less than 10 points, light years behind the top teams. Ten Hag had 8 points after 7 games last season, and we know what happened there.
It honestly 100% feels like we’re being gaslit into believing that this group of players wouldn’t be better served playing in a system they’re used to. I know it’s early in the season, but I’m pretty tired of us relentlessly trying to serve it without any results to back it up.
Good news that Rashford (and Antony) aren’t actually on the injury list after all. Only pre-season etc, but tonight is one where we want to see the first-teamers play longer and play well. The big games aren’t far off now, including this lot in a few weeks. Ready for it! #MUFC
Lad!
@RobSmallwoodXL5 @RLukeSmallwood That’s what I’ve gone with ultimately - Iris has been to 25+ daytime games already, and any school day isn’t going to be crucial yet. Plus, all her Uncles are going too - what I would’ve given to experience that at her age!
Reds, what’s the earliest age you’ve taken your kid to OT for an evening game? And how did it go? I’m asking after going through with it for the Newcastle game regardless 😬 The experience surely trumps the slight tiredness at school the next day? #MUFC
Having an ex-City player that is known to be a United fan do this for Chelsea feels like a crime has been committed.
Being a fan of this club is bad for your health in all aspects.
Exactly this. ETH is probably fucked and it’s hard to care at this point.
Hard not to enjoy this chaotic style when it works, hard to justify it when it doesn’t, but hardest of all to see how it’s ever supposed to win games consistently
Bruno Fernandes definitely not captain material, what kind of leader plays centre back on one leg for 40 minutes to drag his team over the line
Voice has departed. What a day! #MUFC 🇾🇪
Not gutted? I find that hard to believe. Gave everything for the club for over 20 years and has shown constantly that he’s as frustrated as we are. Maybe he overstretches in not being biased but people saying he’s not a true fan…nah. He was in K Stand before you were born.
